MPBMSMA Logo and Definitation
Bees & beehive in the logo of the Myanmar Pluses, Beans, Maize, and Sesame Seeds Merchants Association is to symbolize the working in unity and hard-working nature of the bees, and beehive building in such a way of collecting nectar from flowers of the plants, making any harms to the plants but enhancing its pollination, which is the basic need for the better quality and quantity of the seeds of the plants. In Myanmar, old saying of “When to look for the wealth, just follow the way of bees” supports the same meaning. Based on the fact of doing business in mutual benefits of buyers and sellers and collective and industrious work for the successful achievement, bees & beehive are put in the logo since the establishment of the Association.
About MPBMSMA
As a non-profit organization, the Myanmar Pulses, Beans, Maize and Sesame Seeds Association (MPBMSMA) was established in 1992 with the goal of supporting sustainable agricultural practices and promoting fair opportunities for local farmers, particularly those involved in pulse, bean, maize, and sesame seed cultivation.
Myanmar ranks among the highest global producers of pulses and sesame seeds, with significant contributions from rural communities throughout the country. The association’s executive committee members, elected by members for the 2019-2021 term, include individuals dedicated to supporting agricultural development, from providing resources to enhancing knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Our primary mission is to empower farmers by facilitating access to cultivation areas, quality seeds, and essential agricultural knowledge. By fostering collaboration and sharing resources, we aim to strengthen the agricultural sector, improving livelihoods for rural communities across Myanmar.
